Nicholas has had enough of the mental hospital. He decides to make a run for it and takes shelter in a nearby cafe whilst he waits for his mother to collect him. Inside, Nicholas enjoys the opportunity to interact with rational individuals, even if his pleasure isn’t reciprocated. When Troy, Nicholas’ carer, arrives to take Nicholas back to the loony bin, Nicholas refuses - he’s waiting for his Mum. However, as time ticks by and her arrival becomes less certain, Nicholas will have to face some uncomfortable truths and decide whether he can walk out of the cafe on his own two feet.
